Little Symphonies Future of Backcountry Camping
If you aren't already aware, it a goal of Little Symphonys to record natural sounds from the entire world. Pete is currently in South America recording authentic sounds of the Amazon rainforest (which will be perfect for our popular Amazon Rainforest playlist). Although the Juan de Fuca trail is still relatively close to our home in Edmonton, AB, Sombrio was a nice step out towards a new soundscape. The backcountry experience of the Juan de Fuca trail was perfect for sound capturing as we were far from civilization and crowds of noisy humans. When capturing the sounds of running water, this is especially a nice feature as uninterrupted recordings make for the best sounds. The babbling of the creek is steady, yet highly random leading to a peaceful yet interesting recording.
As of next summer, we plan to backcountry camp in a variety of locations throughout North America. This should give us plenty of opportunities to capture streams and creeks with unique sonic signatures and provide Little Symphony with more material for our ever expanding discography.
Until then, we hope that Sombrio offers you the same tranquility that the Juan de Fuca trail did for me. For more from Little Symphony, please check us out and follow our Spotify page here, or join our mailing list below for new album releases and significant news.
As always, thank you for taking the time to read our blog and listen to Little Symphony.
